Reliance Standard - Annuities Interest Rate Changes - Effective September 29th, 2011
Reliance Standard has announced interest rate changes for their Keystone Index Annuities and Traditional Bonus Annuities. Paperwork must be received by Reliance Standard by the close of business on Wednesday, 9/28/2011 in order to receive a 45-day rate lock on transfers and exchanges.

Standard & Poor's Credit Downgrades: What Do They Mean?
The economic downturn, which began in fall 2008, provided the impetus for many rating agency downgrades. As a result, rating agency downgrades have become commonplace. Standard & Poor's recent downgrade of the U.S. credit rating had a ripple effect through the financial markets, resulting in the loss of AAA ratings for a variety of securities clearinghouses, investment funds and life insurers. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac experienced similar credit rating downgrades. More

All paperwork and funds must be received no later than Friday, 8/19/11 to hold the current rates for all Indexed Annuities. There is a 30 calendar day rate lock for the Stars & Stripes product. Great American does not have a rate lock on their Indexed Annuities. If funds are not received by Friday, 8/19/11, the policy will be issued with the rates in effect when the funds are received.
